Expert Furniture Restoration in Woodnesborough, Kent
Traditional craftsmanship. Furniture worth preserving.
At Foxborough Furniture, we believe well-made furniture deserves to last for generations. Our family-run workshop is led by Steven Marfurt, who brings over 40 years of hands-on experience, working alongside his son, Michael.
Together, we restore antique and modern furniture with care and respect for its original character, using techniques suited to each piece's age, construction and finish.
Our Expertise
Furniture from Every Era
From treasured family heirlooms to 20th-century design classics, our experience covers a wide range of furniture styles.
We understand the differences between traditional shellac finishes and the more understated finishes associated with modern and Mid-Century pieces.
Our Philosophy
A Sympathetic Approach
We aim to preserve the history and character of your furniture rather than unnecessarily making it look brand new.
We examine the timber, existing finish and any structural damage.
We recommend a suitable approach, from traditional French polishing to veneer and structural repairs.
Our work aims to restore beauty and function while retaining original character wherever appropriate.

At Foxborough Furniture, we provide fair, affordable pricing across Kent without ever compromising on quality.

French polishing uses layered shellac for a deep, glossy museum finish. Waxing offers a softer, matte look with easier maintenance. We’ll advise the best option for your piece’s era during your consultation. There’s multiple finishes that we offer.
-
Yes. We offer free collection and delivery on all items within a 25-mile radius of our workshop in Woodnesborough, Kent.
For every collection, we provide a two-man service (usually Mike and Steven). This means we handle all the heavy lifting from your room straight to our van, so you don't have to worry about moving furniture yourself.
For any projects outside of this 25-mile area, we can arrange transport through our trusted specialist couriers to ensure your furniture arrives safely.
