How much does antique furniture restoration cost in Kent?

Furniture restoration costs depend on the size of the item, the damage, and the techniques needed. Our prices range from £20 for small quick fixes such as minor scratches or basic gluing, up to £1,000 or more for large-scale multi-day workshop restorations. We provide fair, affordable pricing across Kent without compromising on quality.

Can you restore badly damaged or worm-eaten furniture?

Yes. We specialise in salvaging furniture with insect damage, loose joints, or missing veneer. Our process includes wood consolidation, epoxy fills, and historically accurate repairs to bring even heavily damaged pieces back to life.

What is the difference between French polishing and waxing?

French polishing uses layered shellac for a deep, glossy museum-quality finish. Waxing offers a softer, matte look with easier maintenance. We advise the best option for your piece's era and condition during your free consultation.

Do you collect and deliver furniture for restoration in Kent?

Yes. We offer free collection and delivery on all items within a 25-mile radius of our workshop in Woodnesborough, Kent. We provide a two-man service handling all heavy lifting from your room to our van. For projects outside this area we can arrange transport through trusted specialist couriers.

Do you use traditional materials like hide glue?

Absolutely. We prioritise period-correct techniques including animal hide glue for joints, organic beeswax finishes, and hand-cut veneers to ensure every restoration is historically sympathetic.

How long does furniture restoration usually take?

Most projects take 2 to 3 weeks from start to finish. The exact timeline depends on the complexity of the work, current workshop schedule, and any material sourcing needed for period-correct finishes. We provide a personalised timeline after assessing your piece.
